Each year 8.3 million tonnes of food goes to waste, food wasted in Korea alone is valued at 37 billion US dollar.. enough to feed 30 million children in Africa. To make people aware of the issue, a trash can with a pedal was re-designed, featuring a picture of a hungry child holding out its hands begging for food.. to open the trash can one needs to step on the hands of the child..
