Idea 97 – Pepsi or Pecsi

Pepsi confused about it’s name?

In Argentina, Pepsi Became ‘Pecsi’ as Spanish speaking people have difficulty pronouncing the “ps” sound.. When speaking Spanish, especially with an Argentinian accent, people tend to say “Pecsi” instead of Pepsi. Pepsi responded by launching a temporary campaign changing the second P to a C. With the objective to get closer to its local consumers it now makes the brand more approachable for those who weren’t pronouncing the name of the brand correctly.

We like localization, but not sure we like this one..
