Idea 3 – Nokia Ringtone Remake

A nice example of sound (re-) branding.

Nokia organized a contest, together with audiodraft, to get suggestions from the crowd on the best way to evolve the typical Nokia ringtone.The competition ran for 1 month and was open to anyone. Submitted tunes had to be less than 30 seconds in duration. 10 finalist where selected through “likes” and the 5 best tunes that were picked by a jury, received USD 1,000 and the honor to be added to Nokia’s OVI store and included on the new phone models. The winner received the same benefits + an additional grand prize of USD 10,000.
